Professor Alessandro De Morais began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2008, training under Professor Alex Costa. From his very first class, Jiu-Jitsu became more than just a sport—it became a lifelong pursuit that would shape his character, discipline, and approach to teaching. Over the years, this dedication evolved into a passion for helping others grow through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, both on and off the mats.
As a competitor, Professor Alessandro tested himself in numerous high-level tournaments, earning victories across major organizations such as NAGA, IBJJF, and The Good Fight. His competition experience played a key role in developing a strategic, pressure-tested approach to Jiu-Jitsu, reinforcing the importance of adaptability, resilience, and continuous improvement.
Professor Alessandro began teaching Jiu-Jitsu in 2012 and has been actively instructing ever since, with extensive experience at Gracie Barra Boston. There, he worked with students of all skill levels—from complete beginners to advanced competitors—focusing on strong fundamentals, technical precision, and confidence-building instruction.
In the summer of 2016, he was honored to receive his black belt, becoming the first black belt promoted directly under Professor Alex Costa. This milestone reflects years of commitment, discipline, and alignment with the Gracie Barra philosophy. He brings vast experience teaching both Gi and No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu, emphasizing structured classes, safety, and a professional training environment.
Jiu-Jitsu is truly his passion, and opening Gracie Barra Stoneham represents the next step in his journey to teach, lead, and uphold the values of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the highest level.
